Stay safe out there oppos. It’s been a crazy week bombings riots shootings. I’m usually one to think the news reports the worst or that things aren’t as bad as we think they are. I’m not so sure after this week.
I thought of this old Sabbath tune after watching the news this morning.

If you look at the numbers themselves, crime rates in American keep falling.
Media outlets are businesses. Their job is to make money. They get far more people watching the news and clicking on their links by promoting violence and conflict.

Yeah. I went to a Catholic grade school, and the church it was part of is where they’re having the funeral services for the Detroit police officer who was killed in the line of duty this week. It’s going to be an event tomorrow.

Guy at my work went to school with him and he’s going. Dude seemed like a class act. What a shame. That and the guy that killed his family ( turns out he killed his pregnant first wife too. Wtf) was pretty rough local stories.

Yeah, this week has been tough. I worked in law enforcement in the city of Detroit from 2004-2014 and I experienced first hand that things got better. Far, far from great, but still, better.
But between the killing of Sgt Steil, and the murder of those 4 kids in Dearborn Heights, it makes it tough to remember that there is still a lot of good out there in the world.
